Peace Tales benefits American children and their families by inviting them to hear stories of inspiration and friendship - words of peace and peacemaking - that are sure to delight. May the lessons of these tales be translated into action!

Through May, 2012, Peace Tales has donated $36,000 to The Women's Commission for Refugee Women and Children and to Peace Talks Radio.

The Women's Commission for Refugee Women and Children provides active support to women and children made refugees as a result of war, armed conflict and other hostilities. The Commission is involved in numerous initiatives across the globe, including projects serving displaced women and children in Afghanistan, Iraq, Kosovo, Sierra Leone, Sudan and Uganda. Working in collaboration with other agencies, including UNICEF, the Commission serves a critical need in caring for women and children who are victims of conflict throughout the world.

Peace Talks Radio gives voice to peace by investigating how people can make peace and pursue non-violent solutions to conflict - within themselves, their families, communities, and the world. The creation of producer and 44-year radio veteran, Paul Ingles, and hosts Carol Boss and Suzanne Kryder, the program airs monthly on the National Public Radio affiliate radio station, KUNM, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Guests include experts in the areas of nonviolence and peaceful problem solving. Topics of recent programs included peaceful parenting, the Department of Peace initiative, non-violent communication, peaceful race relations from the African American perspective, domestic violence and Making Peace with Ourselves in Troubled Times.
